Collect student questions during a live class

Classroom Q&A is the classroom way to use Live Q&A. Students submit short questions to one shared board during a lesson, classmates upvote the ones they also want answered, and the facilitator works through the board while the class is still together.

How it works

  1. Open Live Q&A in the Room at the start of the class and share the Room link.
  2. Ask students to submit questions and upvote the ones they also want answered.
  3. Work the board in score order, marking questions answered, hidden, or being discussed.

What you can do

Why use it in a Free4Chat Room

A question board removes the two things that stall a live class: waiting for someone to speak up, and losing the questions that arrive while somebody else is talking. Every student can submit and vote from their own device, and the Room's voice and chat carry the lesson itself.

Limits & privacy

The board is bounded and temporary: up to 32 questions of 140 characters each, with a limit of 8 questions per person, and nothing is archived once the Room ends. Free4Chat has no separate teacher or admin role, so the same controls that mark a question answered, hidden, or currently discussed are available to any Human in the Room. Questions show no author name unless the student chooses one; that is display anonymity only, and the Room still knows which participant sent each question.

Frequently asked questions

Can students ask questions anonymously?

A question shows no author name by default, and a student can opt in to showing one. That is display anonymity: the Room still knows which participant sent each question.

Is there a teacher or admin login?

No. Free4Chat has no separate teacher or owner role, so the moderation controls are simply available to any Human in the Room.

How large a class can this handle?

The board holds up to 32 questions and a Room is bounded to 32 participants, so it suits a class-sized group rather than a large anonymous audience.

Are the questions saved after class?

No. The board is temporary Room state and is not archived, so copy anything you need before the Room ends.
