Study together in a private room with a shared focus timer
Study Room is the group-study way to use the Pomodoro timer: open a temporary Free4Chat Room, invite your study partners with the Room link, and everyone follows the same focus and break countdown while you work. No signup is required to join.

How it works
- Open Pomodoro in a Room and share the Room link with your study partners.
- Pick a 15, 25, 45, or 50 minute focus block, or set a custom length.
- Work through the same focus and break phases, pausing when the group does.
What you can do
- Run the same focus countdown on every participant's screen.
- Start, pause, resume, reset, or switch to a break for the whole Room.
- Let someone who joins late catch up with the current phase and end time.
- Keep a private focus label that only you can see on your own device.
- Hear a locally played chime when a focus or break phase ends.
Why use it in a Free4Chat Room
A shared timer is all the coordination a study session needs: everyone sees the same phase and the same end time, so you start and take breaks together instead of checking in. One Room link is the whole invitation, and the Room's own voice or chat is there for quick check-ins between focus blocks.
Limits & privacy
This is a temporary Room, not a study community: there is no matchmaking, no public group to join, and no profiles, streaks, or saved study history. The timer lives in the participants' browsers, so the session is lost if everyone closes or reloads it, and the private focus label you type stays on your own device.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a public study group or matchmaking?
No. You invite your own study partners with the Room link; there is no directory, matchmaking, or persistent group.
Do my study partners need an account?
No. Anyone with the Room link can join the temporary Room and follow the shared timer without signing up.
Is the study session saved for next time?
No. Timer state is temporary and lives in the participants' browsers; your device remembers only your phase lengths and your private focus label.
