Time a daily standup, one speaker at a time
Standup Timer is the daily-standup way to use Meeting Timer. Standup mode turns the Humans in the Room into a timed agenda on demand, so a standup runs as a rotation of short, bounded updates instead of an open conversation that drifts past its slot.
Quick facts
- Use
- One timed slot per Human when the order is built
- Slot length
- 2 minutes by default, editable
- Order
- A snapshot of the Room; rebuild when it changes
- Account
- No signup required
- History
- No notes, attendance or saved order
How it works
- Open Meeting Timer in the Room while everyone is present and switch to standup mode.
- Choose Use Room participants to turn the Humans in the Room into one timed slot each.
- Run the rotation, extending or shuffling as it goes, and rebuild the order if the roster changes.
What you can do
- Build one timed speaker slot per Human from the Room roster.
- Shuffle the speaking order, or rebuild it when somebody joins.
- See the same current speaker and countdown on every screen.
- Add a minute or five when somebody needs a little longer.
- Watch the projected end time so the standup stays inside its slot.
Why use it in a Free4Chat Room
The speaking order is built from the Humans who are in the Room at the moment you choose Use Room participants. It is a snapshot, not a live roster: somebody who joins afterwards is in the Room but not in the agenda that was already built, so rebuild the order when the roster changes. Every screen shows the same current speaker and the same remaining time, and the Room's own voice or chat carries the update itself.
Limits & privacy
This is a timer, not a standup tracker. It does not record what anyone said, keep a blocker list, count attendance, or remember the order for the next standup, and there is no recurring schedule to configure. The standup is temporary Room state and is lost if everyone closes or reloads the App.
Frequently asked questions
Is the standup order saved for next time?
No. The order is a snapshot of who was in the Room when you built it, and a later standup builds a fresh one.
What happens when somebody joins the standup late?
They are in the Room but not in the agenda that was already built. Choose Use Room participants again to rebuild the speaker list from the current roster.
Does it record what each person said?
No. Standup mode times the rotation only. There are no notes, blockers, or attendance records.
How long is each person's slot?
Two minutes by default, and every slot can be retimed before or during the standup. +1 min and +5 min extend the current slot while it runs, while it is paused, or after it has hit zero.
